When introduced, IP Security Cameras cost dramatically more than the traditional analog type.  Over time, the cost of IP (internet protocol) cameras has decreased significantly.  At the same time, quality and features have seen marked improvement.  For this reason, CLV recommends only installing IP-Based Security Camera Systems*.

If you already have an analog-based camera system, that was installed using Coaxial cabling, you are in luck.  Several manufacturers have developed new HD over analog camera systems, that allow you to use your existing coaxial cable and still provide IP level video quality (1080P/2.1MP).  Re-using your existing cabling is a huge cost saving for you!
